Well Eli had his 2 mo's check up on Friday...you can veiw the results of that here if you haven't seen it already. He is a growing boy! But such a cutie! Since we started the rice cereal on Friday for his reflux, he appears to be doing a little bit better, not quite so much spittin up! And a little happier...I love a happy boy! Evenings were getting pretty miserable there for a little bit. Every night he appeared to be cluster feeding, getting all fueled up before bed, but we are beginning to think that isn't really the case. He was beginning to get very frustrated and have a hard time eating but kept on trying, it seems the reflux was making him very uncomfortable and wasn't able to truely fill up and keep the food down. So the dr recommended some cereal in his bedtime bottle to help keep the food down. So he hasn't been eating quite so often before bed the past few nights and seems to do better and sleep a little better.
He has gone a couple of 6 our stretches and even a 7 1/2 hour stretch! YAY!!
Well, as most of you know, Daisy and Jacob had reflux pretty bad as well, due to milk and soy allergies. Daisy's was the worst...total refusal to eat.
So, I really don't know for sure if Eli's reflux is caused by the same thing, but considering his brother and sister had it as well, and it was contributed to allergies, I decided to go dairy free for Eli. I have not done soy free yet, but if we can't seem to get things better for him, I will have to try that too. But soy is in EVERYTHING! It will be so difficult.
He seems to be meeting his milestones just fine and the dr wants him to start working on rolling over! Wow, seems so early considering Daisy and Jacob didn't roll till VERY late...Daisy didn't roll till 11 1/2 mo's! So, we are working on lots more tummy time, which he really isn't too fond of yet, but we are workin on it! The boppy helps!
I also have two older sick kids on my hands! Talk about a fun house right now...daddy experienced a hungry baby and two sick kids crying and mugging him all at the same time last night! Comical yet frustrating at the same time! But Daisy fell asleep next to Daddy on the couch while the baby was feeding! It was a little bit of a rough night. Not too terrible though. She really likes to get to have the humidifier in her room at night! Just like her mommy, likes a little white noise while she sleeps!
Oh and I can't forget to add the picture of when Jacob "tried" to feed the baby.....
Yep, dry cereal in a little measuring cup! He grabbed it while I was trying to prepare his bottle! So hard not to laugh and be mad at the same time! Funny how you can experience such contradicting emotions at the same time when it comes to your kids! I can think of no other times in life that you can experience anything quite like it! Makes me wonder what kind of things we do that makes God look at us with incredible anger and jolts of laughter at the same time...
Oh and one last bit of news! Daisy and Jacob are both doing great in their underwear at night! Daisy has been sleeping thru the night dry since my birthday...maybe one accident. Jacob just started a couple of nights ago...but he has a little incentive. He wants Daddy to take him to get a new "Car" this weekend if he stays dry all week. Usually Clark can't even stir him out of bed! Hopefully he keeps up the good work!
